Diversity and playfun on OdeGand
(...)We started the afternoon at the concert hall the Bijloke in Ghent for a concert of the young Belgian baroque orchestra B'Rock. They just played their third concert and invited Richard Egarr to conduct the orchestra from the harpsichord. B'Rock presented a sparkling performance of two of Händels opus 6 concerti grossi. With dramatic contrasts within tempi and dynamics this young orchestra presented a fascinating instrumental argument. Especially the whispering pianissimi combined with the vivid rhythms made a deep impression. Not only the spontaneity in performance but also the humoristic approach of Richard Egarr, made clear that this orchestra signs for the wind of change in a settled baroque music landscape.(...)
